Survey, design and renovation of a 70sqm apartment in Ilioupoli
Katerina and Elena found our website and contacted us because they wanted to renovate their apartment in Ilioupoli. The aim was to update the house they were already living in so that it would become more functional, utilize the unused space in the hallway and kitchen and for the apartment to express them aesthetically.
Design
We decided to swap locations for the bedroom and kitchen so that the kitchen would be integrated with the living and dining room and the bedroom would be moved to the back of the house so that together with the bathroom they would create the private section of the apartment. In the hallway, a laundry room was created with closets for the washing machine and dryer. In the bathroom, we created a new layout so that we could utilize the space more and make it feel larger.
We upgraded the apartment’s energy efficiency with new thermal window frames and thermal facade and replaced all the interior doors. Finally, we replaced all the electrical and plumbing installations of the apartment.
Aesthetics
Regarding the aesthetics, Elena and Katerina wanted to add color to the apartment, so together we chose terracotta floor tiles which make the space feel warmer and combined it with a dark green kitchen and olive-colored wardrobes.
In the bathroom, we placed terracotta tiles on the walls and combined them with patterned checkerboard tiles on the floor and black accessories
