Survey, design and renovation of a 75m2 apartment in Glyfada
Vasilis contacted us when his family wanted to renovate their apartment in Glyfada. Since Vasilis lives abroad, we met with his parents, Foula and Giorgos, in Glyfada to see the apartment and have a discussion.
Design
The existing layout of the apartment was not functional as the kitchen and living room were separate, and access to the kitchen was from the same hallway that led to the bedrooms and bathroom.
We decided to swap places for the kitchen and the front bedroom in order to create a large open space with the living room, dining room and kitchen. The other bedroom and bathroom spaces were maintained in their original location.
Aesthetics
The family wanted a home with modern aesthetics and earthy colors so that the result would feel minimal and calm.
We chose wood like tiles for the floor of the entire flat and the bathroom. In the kitchen, we paired it with cabinet doors in light petrol and white. We installed counters and backsplash from white quartz and a white undermount sink.
In the bathroom, we paired the wood like floor tiles with tiles in corresponding tones of petrol, on the back of the shower, and with beige furniture and tiles in the same tone on the rest of the walls. Also we installed a storage cabinet to cover the washing machine.
In the bedrooms, we chose soft earthy tones for the closets, and overall the flat radiates the calm and modern aesthetics that the family was aiming for.
