Our meeting with Olga was about the renovation and complete furnishing of an apartment in the centre of Athens with a double goal: to be able to accommodate her and her family during the time they spend in Athens, as well as to be rented through airbnb.
This project is a turn key one so our mission was to have it ready and fully equipped. We prepared the budget and technical documentation to help Olga decide very quickly what she wanted and we proceeded with the renovation. We kept Olga informed every step of the way with pictures and videos.
The kitchen:
For the kitchen, we chose white laminate surface for the cupboards and a light-colored counter in combination with tiles in grey tones so that the space is bright and pleasant throughout the day.
The bathroom:
In the bathroom, tiles were installed in earthy colours, while all the plumbing was replaced with new ones. We chose Ideal Standard sanitaryware and faucets, and a safety glass cabin was installed in the shower.
The frames:
Throughout the rest of the house we replaced the old wooden window frames with new Europa aluminum frames. The house is located in the center of Athens and Olga considered it very important to offer her guests peace and comfort while at the same time saving money on the air conditioning of the house. The change in thermal insulation and sound insulation was spectacular.
The floors:
The existing timber floors were machine sanded and varnished with water varnishes. The marble floors were machine cleaned and waterproofed.
The colours:
The entire apartment (walls, doors, wardrobes) was painted from scratch. The colours were chosen based on neutrality and harmony with the decoration. We wanted the house to have character and feel calm.
The decoration:
For the furnishing and decoration of the space, we presented Olga our proposals using 3D renders to help her visualise the space. We have made sure that the furniture is on budget with simple and pleasant aesthetics but also resistant to use and easy to maintain since the house will be rented. At the same time we selected decorative items and linens (sheets, quilts, decorative pillows, blankets, etc.) for use only by the family, which are kept in a separate area, without access by the tenants.
Handing in:
Our crew, who undertook the assembly and placement of furniture, the lamps, frames and other decorations, put each item in their place, so that Olga could receive a turnkey house.
