Design and complete renovation of an apartment in Ampelokipi.
Our first meeting with Dionysis and Lambrini took place in Ampelokipi, in the apartment they had just bought and wanted to renovate. They didn’t have any specific thoughts regarding the arrangement of the apartment and the layout of its spaces. As a next step, we prepared a detailed proposal of the prospects of their new home and helped them visualise it! Firstly we recorded the existing condition of the house accurately. We took measurements of each space and gathered all the important details we needed, such as floor materials, radiator columns, drainage columns, etc.
Our proposal included detailed technical and budget documentation so that the owners know exactly what work will be carried out. Dionysis and Lambrini decided not to change the basic layout of the house, so all the uses remained in their original location. We decided to create a new heating system in the apartment which we connected to the natural gas network. The system also serves hot water.
The project included:
- the complete renovation of the kitchen, bathroom and WC
- the maintenance of existing timber and marble floors
- the complete replacement of the electrical and plumbing of the house
- the change of all windows and balcony door frames
- the natural gas supply installation in the apartment
- the replacement of all internal doors and the main door
- the replacement of bedroom wardrobes.
For the kitchen, white was chosen as the dominant canvas in the space and we combined it with dark brick tiles for the kitchen backsplash to create an interesting contrast.
For the WC, earth-toned tiles were chosen for the floor and walls, with mosaic detailing on a section of the wall.
In the large bathroom we chose tiles in shades of grey in a combination that also includes a pattern which was placed on the wall of the bathtub.
In the bedrooms, the timber floors were preserved and the wardrobes were replaced with new ones designed specifically for the owners needs.
In the living room, the marble floors were preserved and throughout the house the window frames were replaced with new ones from EUROPA.
The radiator network was built from scratch to support the new connection to the gas boiler which was placed on the front balcony and connected to the street supply.
