Renovation proposal for a 50sqm flat

Design, architectural and budget proposal for the renovation of a 50 sqm apartment in Vouliagmeni

 Our meeting with Olga took place in her apartment in Vouliagmeni. The 50 sqm penthouse apartment had large windows and a terrace overlooking the gulf of Vouliagmeni, which immediately piqued our interest. 

The house, built in the 1980s, has a problematic layout which makes it non-functional. The access to the bathroom and the terrace is through the bedroom. In the living room, there are fixed built-in couches which have the wrong arrangement as they are oriented opposite the large windows with the view. Finally, the kitchen and bathroom need to be modernised to support the daily life of the owners.

During our meeting, we accurately recorded the floor plan of the house with all the dimensions, as well as details such as the drainage and heating columns, etc., in order to design a precise proposal for this flat.

The proposal:

We decided to move the bathroom to the other side of the bedroom in order to be closer to the door, and get a separate entrance and not through the bedroom. We opened up a bit the wall between the kitchen and the living room and created a new layout for the kitchen. We opened up a balcony door in the living room so there is direct access to the terrace and changed the layout so the users gain the full view of the sea.
